The "WiiBoy"

Not rich, I just save most of the money I make at my job, and I have very few costs. ;)

Planning on using a 320gb 2.5" HDD.

well, get ready to have less than 100 games on your wii at all times.(make sure to have both usb ports open for external iso's)

Keep in mind he can also run Gamecube games. HE COULD PLAY MELEE AND WIND WANKER.

Are there 100 Wii games?
Are there 10 worth playing?

Around 600, possibly more.

Ironically, without including remakes/ports, I can think of exactly 10 worth playing.

This is exactly how I have money. I'm shrewd, by pretty much everything off brand, and have some very nice toys and spare cash as a result.

I can think of over 10 to play.(including gc games because they also take up one slot)
1. metroid prime trilogy
2. geometry wars: galaxies
3. SSBM
4. no more heroes
5. mario kart wii
6. nhl 2k10(it's actually pretty good)
7. warioware: smooth moves
8. RE4
9. SBCG4AP
10. NFS carbon
11. alien hominid
12. f-zero gx
13. mario kart: dubble dash
14. MGS remake thing
the list goes on, but those are my absolute tops.(I have lots more fun games loaded)\

It works, I just do not have it wired, I was too busy doing case arrangement. :p See those USB and video ports? Those are only there for testing, they will be cut off later.

How will it register motion? Are you going to have an external sensor bar?

I second that question. Also, are you using 4 "hailrazer" battery cells? I am curious what the Wii's power consumption is....

EDIT: lol, my bad - GREAT JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i have that same exact battery pack. i think its value just went up. (palmer has one too! oh boy!!)

Uses Classic controller, lets me use Wii menu. Also has a GC controller wired to the same buttons. The wiimote, as you can see, is wired sideways inside, so I can play games like Mario Kart that use tilting.

That said... I have a more elegant solution for motion tracking, but you guys will have to wait till summer to see it. ;) Not going to make an appearance here.

The cells are from the Energizer 18000 external laptop battery pack. They had them on Woot for $80 a few weeks back, I would totally buy more if they have them.

Finally some more progress! Loos sweet palmer, can't wait for it to be finished.

What would've been cool though is if the screen was put on a vertical swivel, that way when you tilt the controller for steering the screen stays straight. This portable shall be epic.

BTW what are the mAh of those batteries? And have you measured the wii's draw yet?
