Happy new year, time for one of the last updates, I'm very close to finishing the portable, maybe today even. All I've got left to do is some wiring here and there, then install the controller and it's done.
Only problem is I've got some serious interference on the video line, and using nice wire doesn't seem to do the trick. The lines are really bad. Unfortunately the portable might have to make it's finished video debut with a screen full of lines.

That sucks man. Try keeping all the wires away from power wires when you close it up. I dont get that much interference if I do that even though Im not using shielded wires.

Just for giggles, strip a rca wire, like a shielded one from a console or from a dvd player. Wire it up to the screen and ground the shielded bare wire in the rca cord to the screen and to the Gamecube.

Like I said in the PM, shielded wire(connecting ground on both sides of it) and then maybe a toroid and diode, nukear's correct about wire placement, that's important too.
If you aren't seeing anything change, then it's not interference.

Not sure if this has already been said, but use shielded wire for ALL CONNECTIONS if possible. So power lines, AV, etc. The main power lines to the cube and the power lines to the screen. Might help.
The toroid might help. It didn't help for The Envision, but it helps some people I guess.

Nice work!
If you still have video problems try switches the av chip that me be damadged. If that doesn't work your cube is messed up. I have experienced this problem before and I couldn't always fix it.
If you have the same problem on your normal the what I mentioned above does not work your plinked!

Yea I cannot get this video working. I think it's time I just let it go and finished up the portable. I should have time this weekend at least, what I have left to do is put in the controller in and rearrange anything that needs it to make sure it closes. This portable has taken way too long to finish.
