If this is done right, it will be the most comfortable GCP ever built.

I am approve.

My goal Entierly ^^ although i am sort of dissapointed as it seems to be uncomfortable having your hands this far apart..

Re: lyb's GCp worklog ¤Update 31/10/10¤

Re: lyb's GCp worklog ¤Update 05/12/10¤

Everything is moving pretty slow so i didn't do any updates not to bore you
But yesterday spray paint came in the mail ! should be able to finish ths part real soon now, only problem is i litteratly don't have enough time...

Pictured worklog FTW :dahroll:

paint is a montana brand, haven't tried it yet but i hope it's going to be chip-resistant this time

Nearly done with it, had to add a few millimeters on the whole part, had to recreate the screw hole, only for the sake of cosmetics (is that the right word?) i guess i'm being a tad much anal on the details ^^

also had to do some inside triming (board and casing) to make it all fit and be all smooth and centered :awesome:

yesterday i added teeth so that everything would coincide, and to fill gaps...

Re: lyb's GCp worklog ¤Update 31/10/10¤

The details are what make it. Don't get frustrated.

Re: lyb's GCp worklog ¤Update 5/12/10¤

it is mostly ready to be painted, but it is snowing atm where i live, and it is always below 0 (celcius), won't it hurt the paintjob if i paint anyway?

well here's how teeth worked out :

satisfied about thit but some part of this project are not fine by me, but fixing them does'nt seem practical...

Here's my real question :
101222070327100574.jpg

these are the screw posts i want to use, how do you recommand i place them? would superglue do the trick? i don't want abs cement cause it would ruin and deform everything, and i don't want that, at all...
please suggest smthg, thanks :awesome:

Re: lyb's GCp worklog ¤Update 5/12/10¤

I would use multiple things if you can, they have to be able to support the entire portable's weight, soooo....yeah. I'm no expert on screwposts, though, so I can't really say which way works best.

Re: lyb's GCp worklog ¤Update 5/12/10¤

well not really since the 6 screw holes in the controller i used are still there. the portable itself holds nicely at the moment, but those are needed for cosmetics, and a little for support

Re: lyb's GCp worklog ¤Update 5/12/10¤

Oh, if it's just for support, then literally anything should be fine, in my first GCP(with controller flanks) all I had was the controller screws. Was study as heck, too.

Re: lyb's GCp worklog ¤Update 5/12/10¤

Mario uses just high-temp hot glue after rough sanding the surfaces to attach his screwposts. I'd copy him if it worked. ;)

Re: lyb's GCp worklog ¤Update 5/12/10¤

Problems :

1) I recently grew a pair and decided to cut my screen hole. Having nailed it, i then tryied to glue the metal bezel from my psone screen to the insides of the portable, installing it if you will. My problem, even though i rough sanded where i want it to stick, my hot glue won't stick to the metal part...

2) If i were to use a laptop li-ion battery, or a camrecorder's battery or any li-ion battery, how would i be to charge it? with what?

Re: lyb's GCp worklog ¤Update 5/12/10¤

Maybe if you used more hot glue on the edges of the screen from the inside it might stick then. For charging you could probably use some type of smart charger.I think some of them are adjustable or they adjust themselves to the correct volatage. . .nice case work by the way.

Re: lyb's GCp worklog ¤Update 5/12/10¤

Will it stick to metal? Honestly i'm mostly affraid that it will deform the styrene...

Re: lyb's GCp worklog ¤Update 5/12/10¤

JB WELD!...if your not planning on removing it any time soon.you can get it at a harware store or maybe even a grocery store. It will stick :pirate:

it shouldnt deform or hurt anything
