I think Ill stick with the original pads, Will just thermal paste keep the heatsinks on, or does the epoxy/glue do most of that? And if so does the type of thermal paste matter or will any kind do?
Once again I cannot stress just how nice it is to have someone who can help me out with any...
Okay, Thanks so much for all your help Bud. Also, Would a heatsink 1in x 1in work? Do I need any thermal paste or should I just use some wires and glue to keep it down?
I cut the original heatsink plate so it would lay flat with everything. Should I get rid of that and just have the metal blocks and screw the thin metal cover into them?
That's what I currently have as my batteries but they don't fit in my case too well. That's why I wanted to switch to the individual cells. Should I stick with what I have and just make room?
Havent posted for a long time, anyway.
Would this be a good li-ion battery to use? Does anyone know how many I would need for a good battery life? Also what PCB and charger should I use.

Re: Iclassic portable nintendo 64 (including worklog)
At least he made a portable instead of spending all his time critiquing others. Since I've joined Modretro all you do is complain about how flaxty everyone's projects are. I agree with the fact that this isn't the best portable, but it's...
This is *Can'tSayThisOnTV*ing hilarious, It made my day just a little bit better, sorry if that makes me a dick.
Anyway, is this the tic tac case your talking about?

It was a nice unique copy of hailraizers darth 64 but the case work, which I never even finished, was over the top and the battery life on it is awful. I also did a lot of things that most wouldn't do, but I learned and got much better from the experience.
I started my n64p awhile ago during the summer as a redemption project for my previous n64 which was poorly made. I hadn't gotten around to posting my progress as i have been experiencing a bit of laziness. I finally got around to making this thread, enjoy.
here is my previous n64
and the...
I connected it to the c15 capacitor and it worked perfectly, thanks a lot bud, finished all my wiring now and will probably start a work log thread when I can upload the photos.
Ok thanks a lot for the pictures, it made what you said more understandable, it's like 12am and I'm so tired, I have school so I can't try this out till tomorrow afternoon.
I hooked it up with the normal composite wires and they work fine with my other n64 but the video doesn't work for some reason on this n64, only svideo does, I hooked it up to my ps1 screen and the composite doesn't work on that either. Is there a composite to svideo converter?
I looked around the forums and am still unsure about whether or not you can use s-video with a ps1 screen, the n64 I have only let's me use s-video for some reason, please help. :cry4:
I was thinking of doing a similar thing, because it's really the only spot for the batteries to go, would the batteries be ok if I put a thick piece of plastic in between them and the heatsink? Its the original heatsink with the metal cover that goes over the n64 underneath.
