The MCp (MoRZi-CUBE Portable) My Gamecube Portable(Canceled)

Re: The MCp (MoRZi-CUBE Portable) My Gamecube Portable Workl

Ok. Some progress here.
Now, wired most part of controllers. Only need to relocate the L+R triggers and cut the controller board for easy relocation.
I used some tact switches for reset and Start buttons like the Kasar's GCP Guide.

And wired all stuff and power to the correct pins of controller port. Battery is safely wired and hidden under the gamecube board.

Cut some IDE wires for relocate the C-stick and only need to cut D-pad for put in the correct position on my MCp.

I have some pics and videos, but irrelevant for now and my smartphone usb cable dissapeared ;)

Later when i wired all controller stuff(mostly partially relocated), glued in the case and make the last's holes for Power wall Switch and Start+reset+power led buttons.

Now only need to wire the C stick and Triggers and the internal memory card and new sdgecko.

Anyway my FFC is delayed and the wiikey is waiting the breakout board to solder correctly without fry anything( Eso espero jejeje )....

The guides for noobs and the help in the forums, can make very easy the assemble of parts, but the time isn't my friend

Ahhhhhhhh and the case is now "better" looks than previous pics posted weeks ago. I sanded good as i can and paint very carefully and the result is pretty than i was think for my final case.

Hailrazer!!! I need your help with the triggers L+R and your mod for Dreamcast compatible Quantam fighter pad. Can you help me with a question?
I need to cut the part for better slide and the question is...
Need to desolder the original slides of my gamecube controller and replace with the original quantan slide or is valid??

Thanks in advance ! All the mods i put inside my MCp went from your guides :D

Re: The MCp (MoRZi-CUBE Portable) My Gamecube Portable Workl

Ya casi está, me falta na más el botón Z y los triggers y a ver si me llega el FFC que el cable ribbon es muy chiquito xD Yo ya no veo tan bien como para soldar ahí directamente.

One problem guys!!! I soldered the memcard in SLOT A, but.... in the reverse position
Now is in the correct position and runs flawlesly ;)

The SDGecko need to be in fat32 if the SD of wkf flash swiss? or need WBFS?

I understand that Ashen says in some post that the wiikeyfusion flashed with swiss can work with fat32 SDcards....Really?

Sorry but i can't  I soldered and glued in the board.
The only i can show you is a glued part and a meleé of wires...

OK i have sound again. Crappy and only one speaker because i broke some parts of internal board amp and the external can not make the work itself.
I wired some wires here and there and tachán! Sounds works again, but very crappy. But hey! I got sound in a broke board sound xD
I use and old 3v radio portable very with very small board. I can't get headphones running and volume control tweaked for down a little.
This is the maximun that i can make for the sound. Go to other important task before fix this.

Make the holes for start button and reset. And make other one very small for the power LED.

Found new way to put new heatsink into the board, but it's a hard task. I wired all stuff and don't have much space for work on this.
But is very thin and the noise is nothing! Went from old laptop. Gave more space for other stuff but i'm not 100% secure to include this thing into my project. I'm not prepared for fry other board when is in advanced stage and close to finish.

Later i try to trimm and wire the sticks and d-pad and buttons inside the case.
Probably next weekend...I don't jnow...

Re: The MCp (MoRZi-CUBE Portable) My Gamecube Portable Workl

YES!! I'm close to finish day by day.
This is a little advance:
2012-09-09211345.jpg

Controller semi-wired(only few buttons)
2012-09-09183302.jpg

Power LED
2012-09-09183257.jpg

And a video TEASER 4

The sound is very crappy. I broke the internal board amp and wiring to an old radio portable.

The controller is out of my case because i use only one controller and only wire Start button for now.
Need to trimm a little and wire some other buttons like A,B,X ,Z and C -stick and the Analog Stick.

The L+R triggers mod from my Quantan Dreamcast compatible control PAD is in progress, but i need to relocate before put inside the case.

The original position that make holes firstly, is far from Sticks and currently a pain to press correctly.
I have long fingers but not to much longer for press without broke tendons

Waiting FFC for wkf but delayed again. I don't know what happen , but i need to wait a month for receive

Anyway, the meleé of wires need clean a lot. Don't close the case with million wires inside xD Need to clean a lot.

Next time, i'll try to put the memcard and posibly an SDGecko for homebrew, but i don't know if this is a good idea for my first portable or not.

How i relocate the wires? Need the 5v conection and 3.3v from motherboard? Or simply wire by wire from memcard to SIDE A or B?

I'll try to put 3.3v and 5v from regulator to memcards , but don't run. Need some help with this.

See ya!! ;)

Re: The MCp (MoRZi-CUBE Portable) My Gamecube Portable Workl

Nice progress & teaser 4, Morzillo :)
One question, why does the GC error 5 second message show up?
Is the wiikey fusion wired up incorrectly?

Cause if it is wired correctly then you should not be getting that error message??

Anyways, great progress can't wait for more updates :)

Re: The MCp (MoRZi-CUBE Portable) My Gamecube Portable Workl

The screen error appears because not DD drive detected.
Havn't yet wired my wiikeyfusion.I'm waiting the FFC breakout
board,but delayed for a month. I don't know why.

Thanks :awesome:

Re: The MCp (MoRZi-CUBE Portable) My Gamecube Portable Workl

All Sticks wired. Control pad and buttons ABXYZ need to relocate.
The Triggers mod is done! I have soldered the Quantam fighter MOD from hailrazer and put a tact switch like in the guide.
Wiring this, is very simple ;)

The only need help is for wiring buttons ABXYZ I USE ONLY ONE controller original.
The pins in guides are different from my controller. In the guides use a compatible controller(with the blue thing like in the pic below, but mine is the other)

Need to cut D-pad and ABXY to put into case and rewiring in the main controller(alternative pins) or in the central chip
Here:
OfficialControllerPinout.png

It's possible to use one controller? Sticks running ok and Start and Z button and triggers without cut the board.

Need some help with this...

Re: The MCp (MoRZi-CUBE Portable) My Gamecube Portable Workl

Teaser V is cool, nice progress :)

Hope to see some wiikey fusion action once you have the FCC breakout broad wired up :)
Wiikey fusion is awesome, 100 % compatibility and games load from SD card!!!!

I'm using a 64 gb SDLC as my main game SD card :)

Swiss allows up to 32gb, fat no 64 gb, but it's great for playing NTSC games or pal or jap.

Re: The MCp (MoRZi-CUBE Portable) My Gamecube Portable Workl

Yes ;)
I'm waiting my breakout board but not coming :(

Don't know why.

But anyway, a lot of work undone yet. Need to put more effort in this task.

Thanks ;)

Re: The MCp (MoRZi-CUBE Portable) My Gamecube Portable Workl

OK, wired controller and glued some parts in the case.
The C-Stick and buttons ABXY and Start works flawlesly!
The analog Stick, turn left, right and up, but the glue does not being down, maybe i glued a lot and goes crazy.
I broke the D-pad when i cut it from another controller. The UP pad is cut by half  because my pulse with dremel fails a bit

I put a Z-button tact switch from the other controller into the half-UP pad and glued into case. It's not the best decision, but run...sometimes...

The ABXY cut is awesome! glued , fit very fine and run like a original gamepad.
The C-Stick is very easy, only 4 wires from controller to the stick and run well. This time, in the center position at 12 o'clock.
The Analog stick, need to wire the 6 pins and relocated again. Turns into a crazy movements up and down. Posibly a short circuit, need to revise later...

Finished the mod for L and R triggers and glued tact switch into for long press. Need to relocate in the case and glued in some part of the back.
I'm impressed if this thing works :awesome:

Need to make a new holes for Z button and SDcard slot for the wiikey without broke anything...

Screen is glued and switches for ON/OFF from power wall and batery pack, headphones and charger are done.

Ohhhhhhh huge changes for me, and nothing for the people, but i'm happy with the work. It's my first time making a portable and is my first project with soldering iron in 21 years. It's not perfect, but i like it!

time to recheck and fix the Analog Stick!

Re: The MCp (MoRZi-CUBE Portable) My Gamecube Portable Workl

Bought a 16GB sdcard class 4(14mb/sec read and 4mb/s write _ the same read speed at class 10,the write is for my PC and only 10€)
And a SDgecko-memcard adapter compatible and very cheap!
Trying to fix my analog Stick. Goes crazy sometimes.

Only need to wire triggers and tact switch mod for long press.

I'm thinking various alternatives to wiring my WKF, my breakout board(FFC-36) not coming and not delayed, cancelled :(
Planned to destroy them using my poor soldering iron and heating long time is not my initial idea.
Maybe, need someone to soldering for me. Or another way, make and adapter from old TV or whatever thing i can take from my room xD

I have ton of hardware and trash here.Teorically, consoles, controllers, laptops, hanhelds and more. But i try to find some thing similar to a FFC bk board and make for myself.
If not, i can send my wiikey fusion to someone and pay for soldering to me. I can't see this tiny pins on ribbon cable and i havn't and amplifier lamp or whatever say. And my skills not good for tiny soldering.

Try to Relocate the original memory card slot(removed) to my MCp for SDgecko and waiting.....

Re: The MCp (MoRZi-CUBE Portable) My Gamecube Portable Workl

I broke 2 official controllers
WTF i need to make my MCp? The guides is for unofficial controllers and the relocation points not the same.
I was tried a mod with analog stick to d-pad and the same sh**t.Run, but some short in controller go down and up indefinitely.

For the moment the ABXY and Z and Start runs well on my MCp and the C-Stick. Triggers are finished and the "hailrazer" mod but not soldering yet.
The analog and d-pad flax.
D-pad only turn left and up but, down and right does not.I glued this part and under the Analog stick that glued a lot near of my d-pad cutted-board.

This thing makes me crazy and hard to continue with other important things, but i need to buy a new compatible controller like in the guides and restart my project again.

A lot of work is done and most of soldering too. Only few thingsto fix in the controller part and the WKF.WKF is the most important and the last part to add to my project, but not the last task xD

The controller is mounted in the case and glued, the screen too, triggers is on the way and soldering to the controller when fix the analog and d-pad.

Thinking about wiikey fusion...

Post few pics later and maybe a teaser 6...

Pronto hermano pronto ;)

No soy capaz de soldar esa mierda tan pequeña!!!! Necesito esa cosa que trae la board del DD para enchufar el wiikey o el DD sin soldar.

Re: The MCp (MoRZi-CUBE Portable) My Gamecube Portable Workl

OK! I'm found some tact switches four legs here.
I use those tact for my D-pad relocation and found new way to improve the broke analog Stick.
If i can lucky, post pics later, if not....open new official controller(my last controller) and restart wiring and glued in the case.

Stay alert!

EDIT: Analog Stick doesn't run. Need to open other controller or make a mod... :(

I have this controller error...

EDIT 2 : D-pad Fixed!!!!! :awesome:

Re: The MCp (MoRZi-CUBE Portable) My Gamecube Portable Workl

Bad news!!!!
I broke my last controller

When i desolder the conector for powering my controller, i apply much time the solder machine and broke the pin conectors.
I try to make a "fix" but not respond....
I soldered before allllllllllllllllllllllllllllll conections again, Analog stick, C-Stick, D-pad and L+R Buttons, start and grounds for all.

But, when i'll try to desolder the power and put the soldered in board power conector....broke the pins...

i'm bored, i think in NOT continue this project for the moment.
Bye!
