Nobble's SNES Portable: The Scarlet SNES

Re: Nobble's SNES Portable Worklog

Think what you want, but I think it looks pretty nice.

...Why is the screen so high up, though?

Well it looks better in real life is what I was trying to get at. And the screen is up higher since I didnt cut the bottom part of the mobo off so really it fits perfectly where it is.

Re: Nobble's SNES Portable Worklog

it is. Are those buttons below the D-Pad and ABXY Start and Select?

Re: Nobble's SNES Portable Worklog

Hot glue is very unnecessary when it comes to the cartridge slot, and is quite the pain if you have to fix it later.

Too late now  I'm sure it will be fine i soldered it in nicely and took my time.

Re: Nobble's SNES Portable Worklog

Why did you get a new SNES? The old one looked EASILY fixable, if all you did was knock two resistors off. Now that you have a new one, why ont measure the values of the resistors, find some replacements, then have two SNESes (SNESi? SNEESE?)

I tried replacing the surface mount resistors and it didn't work. I'd rather just forget about the old one and move on since I didn't pay for the first one, I got it as a gift.

Little, tip, never, ever, never, never, ever, never, ever, throw anything away. You'll be glad you didn't later. Just get a cardboard box and label it graveyard or something.

I kinda threw it away. lol

I could understand throwing a broken PCB away, or a busted game board you don't like, but a mini-SNES? Those things aren't all that common. And yours could probably easily be fixed by an experienced game-console-fixer. Also, people will buy even broken stuff, especially on here.

I guess I didn't throw mine away only plovers. Mine was sitting in my cabinets. Do you want to buy it?

Re: Nobble's SNES Portable Worklog

Are you talking about the one with missing resistors, the replacement, or a different one?

yeah, mine couldn't be repaired, the boards were totally fried.
