Nobble's SNES Portable: The Scarlet SNES

Re: SNES Netbook - The SNESbook

So today I got my batteries and wired them up mostly. I still have to wire them up to the power switch. So I placed in the switch and power port. I used the old zenith screen's power port and will hook up the plug into the smart charger.

THINGS TO DO:

- LED mod the screen
- Get new snes board
- Wire up batteries
- Wire up av-out
- Wire power switch
- Paint
- Glue screw posts in place
- Finalize!

Re: SNES Netbook - The SNESbook

So are you going to use a ti step down regulator or a heat regulator?

Re: SNES Netbook - The SNESbook

Today I cut the hole for my cart slot. I Also started to cement the screen into the case. All seems to be going well. Here's some pictures.

Does the SNES still work?
It turns on and plays the game but the video is all messed up. I am getting a new one in the mail soon.

Re: SNES Netbook - The SNESbook

Wait a sec... If the SNES doesn't work PROPERLY, what was the point of rewiring the cart slot?

Re: SNES Netbook - The SNESbook

Yeah, they'll probably be there by Wednesday at the latest.

Re: SNES Netbook - The SNESbook

Ok, so I am going to use a different case for this project now and it will no longer be a laptop. The case design is too small to hold everything in it and very hard to use so I am reverting back to the old zn-40. Yes, I know everyone has done zn cases but it's what I got and it will look better in the long run. I am using and OKW case for the cart slot (forgot which one I ordered). I am still going to keep the red color and I will be adding internal controls and hopefully a player 2 slot. I am still using my zenith screen and lipo batteries. So far I have glued my power port in place and used wood putty to fill in the ends of the case. More to come soon. I will also be changing the name of this topic. Help me come up with a new name!

Re: Nobble's SNES Portable Worklog

Well I got some work done on my case. So here's some pictures! The cartridge case is only mocked up for the time being.

I painted the front half of the case today. It looks like flax in the picture but in real life it's a lot better.
