today a friend of mine came up to me raving about a "new videogame," as he called it, that was "hella sick and had crazy virtual reality or some flax." Turns out he was talking about the rift. as you can tell by the way he was talking about it, he is not really someone you'd (or i wouldnt at least) expect to know about. nice going palmer, you famous.

Yeah, I was discussing upcoming technology with a friend and he brought up the rift (though he wasn't quite sure on the name). It's going to be big when the consumer version comes out.

I've got a bunch of friends who are interested in it and they think it's cool as Heck that one of my friends is one of the big forces behind it.

Thanks Palmer, you've given me friend cred!

I too, have had people talk to me about it. They don't seem to understand it too well, but overall, I think it is clear that the market may finally be ready for this flax.

The market has been there for a long time. The technology is finally there to meet the market's demands.

The stars have aligned, in any case.

that they have, and now we will witness the reawakening of Xel'lotath.

Being a participant of modretro, and deep web in general, has finally paid off in street cred.

We can pretend the procrastinating was worth it!

Just got the latest issue of Popular Science in the mail and there's an article about the Rift -- and Palmer.

Dude, you made Popular Science. You are living the dream.

It came up in the Rooster Teeth podcast of all places. I'm starting to feel like a Palmer hipster. I knew the band before the band got big, and remember the days when I thought all his talk about head mounted displays were just the ramblings of a crazy man.

It's kinda funny, me and some guy at work were alking about how fast technology was advancing, and he brought up the rift. Was just like "oh yeah, I know the guy who made it". I also just ordered mine yesterday :awesome: was supposed to back the kickstarter but couldn't due to insufficent funds at the time..

They we're, it's like being friends with Jim Morrison or something and he's talking about starting a band, just that the crazy man actually did what he said he was gonna :p

Except maybe a little less dramatic.
