They would have been right, both of those diagrams are logically equivalent.

The one you posted first is probably best though, it uses less parts/power.

Thanks for the insight. That was my understanding, but I don't really understand how logic gates work. I'm going to look into it, they seem very useful.

Wired up my batteries and regulator.
Turned it on.
Nothing.
Reset.
Nothing.
Checked all my connections.
Nothing.
Put a Jumper Pak in.
Works like a charm.

Don't forget that part, I hear it's pretty important.

At least I didn't put it in backwards or something REALLY stupid.

Everything is working out pretty Dang good so far. Maybe I'm cut out for this business. Once the screen is hooked up, this thing will be officially portable. That will probably happen this weekend.

Vac former today. I'll make a run to Home Deppo (Am I the only one that calls it that?) in an hour or so and then throw it together. I've got it planned out in my noggin. I'll post pics when I'm done. I NEED PLASTIC!

All the bits, with spacer in place

12" frame, 12"x18" frame, spacer for 12" frame

12"x18" frame in place

12" frame in place with spacer properly located


Cost me $10 for the pegboard and the weatherstripping, everything else was just sitting around.

I have parts for another one if anyone's interested. ;D
