Finally, after a year of sitting on my desk, my N64p is back in production! A new name, a new lease on life!

Relocated the cart slot today.

Unfortunately, it doesn't work. LED comes on though. I'm going to screw around with some of the earlier joints I did back on Saturday, they are pretty crappy. My new ones are just fine though! I'm getting better at this. The whole thing took less than an hour, I think.

Redid the wires I did on Saturday, the flaxty ones. Still doesn't work. Found one place it was shorting though. Going to look for more, there has to be at least one.

Bleh, all signs point to dead board. I think it was dead before I started in on it. I'll try it tomorrow, and if it doesn't work, I have spares.

Make the wires shorter and make them the same length.

If there is no game in and the RCP heats up to HOT within 12 seconds it's probably dead.

Also for later - did you try to unbridge your Reset button? I don't imagine it would do anything if you've just bridged ground as bentomo(?) said, but it may be worth a shot.

RCP tops out at 40ºC over the course of a minute or two, no sharp spikes. I'll desolder the reset and see what happens.

1. You don't have to bridge anything for the reset button.
2. You forgot the inverters on that diagram up there.

New board worked first shot.

Just wired up my protection circuit for my LiPos.
Hey, do you wire the charger in series with the batteries, or in parallel?
