Installing OS without Changing Boot Loader Settings

I've got my pc running GRUB bootloader with windows 7 and ubuntu 10.10 dual booting. I want to install TinyXP to a usb drive without changing any of its settings. I know that the last time I tried this on my other computer, the bootloader reverted to the windows xp one without settings to boot into 7. I need to know how to do this, any suggestions? (Basically, I need to load tinyxp on another computer by changing boot priorities)

Unplug the hard drive before you install to USB.
