GameCube Portable Breadbox Cube (03/09/2015) FINISHED

Re: The GameCube Portable (15/06/2013)

So I hit a little speedbump today.

I used SS's TUT on flashing the WFK with Swiss and make it Auto-boot.
When I get to the point where I switch the WBFS-sd for the FAT32-sd and Get in the Swiss menu and need to select the swiss_Flasher.dol, the whole thing freezes at 97% .

Any Ideas on what it could be tht's causing this issue?

Thanks in Advance.

Greets,
Bakuku

You gotta make sure your wiring is neat. And with SDGeck shorter wires are better

I got it working again, the SD gecko was shorted.

Look out for major update!

Re: The GameCube Portable (06/08/2013)

So I got a Question:

When connecting a Memcard trough Via's ... Pin 1 3 5 7 9 11 are connected. But what about the other pins safe from ground on the Memcard. Do I leave them "unplugged" or do they still need to be connected.

greets and thanks

If i Buy 4 of These and make 2/series 2/parallel would that work for the Gamecube?

Re: The GameCube Portable (06/08/2013)

Just curious why you'd want the barrel shaped batteries instead of flat packs like this? Space or just preference? I'm asking as a noob, more to hear opinions than anything... but it seems that 1 lipo pack would eliminate the need for your series/parallel combo?

Space can be a big reason. The capacity to volume ratio should be about the same, its just that sometimes one style will fit in a case better than another. Most laptop batteries (at least that I know of) use cylindrical cells, while PSPs, DSs, and cell phones use flat cells.
You would still need 2 cells in series to power a GC, though.

Re: The GameCube Portable (06/08/2013)

Hi all,

So I'm putting my controller together. I plan on using 3ds sliders.
Is there any special requirement for those to work... Or do I just solder X Y to the Controller chip?

And what's the input voltage for the sliders?

Thanks in Advance

Re: The GameCube Portable (06/08/2013)

Connecting 3DS sliders directly to your controller will result in poor functionality and is known to cause an inverted Y axis (I think). That may not be the case depending on what controller you're using, but you will most likely need to have something in between the sliders and the controller. ShockSlayer found a fix to make the sliders work well on official controllers here: viewtopic.php?f=36&t=8324. A user on the forums named RDC has also created an adapter board to make the sliders work flawlessly with virtually any controller, which is talked about here: http://forums.shockslayer.com/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=673. 3.3v, same as the joysticks in a normal controller get, works well using resistance on the lines like ShockSlayer.
