Breadbox Cube V.2 Finished

Re: The Gamecube Portable 05'26'2015

So I forgot to use primer on my case. I had to sand it down clean because I wanted to rework some areas which showed imperfections. Is it okay to sand it lightly and then use Primer from the second layer onwards?

Don't want it to look crappie and if anybody had experience with this kind of blunder.
I really don't want to sand it down completely again because that's a pain in the ass!

Thanks

Re: The Gamecube Portable 05'26'2015

I have had problems with rustoleum paint only sanding down a partial area and repainting with the new layer of paint wanting to separate and crack similar to this:

Now Idk if that would happen with whatever paint you're using but I ended up sanding down everything a second time and re-priming then repainting my case. I don't remember if I had already used clear coat on it, but I feel the results would be the same. And if you re-sand everything now it will be less of a pain in the ass later lol.

Well I was stubborn and did it my way. The result, surprisingly good! Came out a little more mate and I like it!

Unit should be finished next week.

Thanks for the advice none the less!

No problem and I'm glad it worked for you. I think the problem on mine was the clear coat reacting with the regular paint. Dissimilar bases or something. looking forward to seeing the finished product!

Looks sweet! Great color choice. Are you gonna post a video once you get it closed up?

Battery is a good 1h30 to 1h45 of gametime.
Heat is no issue what so ever! Stays really cool. Mobo does get hot but I assume that's normal.
