It looks ok. I would have someone with car experience go with you to check it out. Even if you're pretty good with cars, having a second opinion is always great. Take it for a drive and see if it does anything weird. Kinda hard to go wrong with a $500 car, but a $500 car can easily turn into a $1500 car if any issues come up.

Also, make sure the registration is current on it. Ask if there are any DMV fees that need to be paid on it. Otherwise you'll be paying a bit more, too.

Beware. Tempos are among Ford's headache cars.

The flywheels have a problem shearing off around the flange where it bolts to the crankshaft, because the bolts have a tendency to loosen a bit.
