E3 2012

I'm not bothered about losing Gamecube compatibility, considering I believe the Wii U won't contain much Wii hardware, therefore some legacy device/emulation thing would have to be supported, it's easier to just cut it loose than try and build hardware around accepting old standards.

I also hope there will be a traditional (i.e. good and usable and not massive) WiiU controller, *Can'tSayThisOnTV* the tablet.

They could still do gamecube support through software emulation/virtual console, and that probably fits in better with their online distribution plan anyway. Downside is of course you'd have to rebuy your GC games, but I'm assuming they wouldn't be that expensive.

I imagine they could end up costing as much as $20 though, knowing how slowly Nintendo marks down prices.

That's mainly just because of how many sales Mario games and such get consistently through time. Mario Kart Wii was still selling a flax ton last I remember. I'd hope they'd price them at like $10-15 though considering it's not like they're making any money off GC games now anyway.

what if this Metroid/StarFox thing was actually just a Metroid game that includes space combat? Samus has a ship that we never really see in action, so maybe they want to add some of that into the series.

Just interested in AC3, Dishonored gameplay and some *Can'tSayThisOnTV*ing Vita games.

I can totally see a star fox esque metroid game, definitely not vice versa. Metroid and its characters are far more serious than the funny, quirky starfox crew.

Now we need a new F-Zero game. We've had so many rehashed modern day racers in the past half a decade its getting ridiculous.

Nintendo are ready to ruin the Metroid franchise, shame, but what to expect from Ninty other than total prostitution anyway.

Actually, I vaguely recall reading something about the new Metroid having multiple planets, and the ability to travel between them whenever you like. This is probably where the Starfox comparison came from.

Are you thinking of Metroid Prime 3? It had multiple planets you could freely travel between.

Maybe... I've never played thru 3 yet. I tried for like an hour once and couldnt get past the terrible voice acting.

Theres voice acting in Metroid Prime 3?

Pay attention to id Software at E3, they are going to be showing off Doom BFG edition. It has support for my HMD, they will be released as a bundle before general release.

badass.

... So you legit got id I'd not only promoting, but straight up marketing your product? *Can'tSayThisOnTV*ing Heck.

new Tomb Raider trailer. This game really is looking rather entertaining from a cinematic stand point. I like the direction they're going for the characterisation of Laura.

I don't even care about a pretty case. Just take my money. :p
I'll make it look good when I'm done being *Can'tSayThisOnTV*ing amazed at it.
