Bush's N64p: The Whacka 64 (for sale/commission!)

Problem, I wired everything up correctly but my audio amp is squealing and the n64 isnt on. Could cutting off the pins (long poles) on a TI reg ruin it? EDIT: The led on my amp doesnt turn on, so could it be undervolting?

i dont think that cutting off the poles on the ti regulator would do anything ... make sure you have the regulator hooked up right and grounded same with the audio amp most likely its the regulator though....

I think the reg was shot. I replaced it and tested everything with a multimeter and now it works!

Ok, now when I turn it on, the 3.3v line is only get 3v. The amp buzzes, and the n64 comes on, but the screen eventually gets white lines and the n64 and amp turn off. Could this be an undervolting issue?

yes check the batteries and make sure you have the right resistor on the regulator i had no problems with my pth08080 so it might be a bad joint or a short too

Its fine, my multimeter says it gives of about 3.2v, but the board only gets 3v.
what kind of resistor are you using? and where did you get it? What guage of wire are you using?

Yeah, it works, but it turns off after a few seconds
I had the same problem  It was a multitude of things. I did something weird with my reset button, but I don't think you'll have that problem. I was using a 2k resistor and that was a big problem. 1.8k is the way. You need to use thicker wire on your 3.3v line. make sure you have no shorts in your cartslot relocation. I recommend charging your battery fully too because that will make a difference. I hope this helps :pirate:

Thanks! It was suggested I use 2k, but obviously thats bad. Ill switch the wire and the resistor.

I changed wire and now get a max of 3.2v, the hum is less prominent, but its still too low; the video signal flickers and turns white, and the 64 cuts off. It's funny, when it turns off, the PCB locks and outputs less than half a volt. I have to switch the batteries to charge and plug in my charger to unlock it.
