Wiikey fusions no longer being manufactured. Alternatives?

Hey all, it's common knowledge by now that Wiikey Fusions are no longer being manufactured officially. I've seen some sites mention that they are selling knockoffs, but most seem to be out of stock (and I'm not sure how well the knockoffs work).

I was just curious if anyone had found an alternative to the wiikey fusion that was in stock. I'd rather not go back to using a disc drive.

yeah go for the wasps. They work exactly the same and the pcbs are slightly smaller than the wkf. But the sd card slots are bigger I noticed.

it appears wiikey team stopped official production back in Jan 2013...
so every WKF sold since then has either been old official stock or new clone stock.

I have tested many of these clones and they work 100% in terms of identical compatibility to the original WKF.
WASP Fusion is a completely different PCB with different component layout. However, it still works with the original WKF firmware or Swiss on flash with full functionality just like you would expect from an original official WKF...

I have no ill will toward that last fiasco posted here on this forum between you and I, but if you are looking for stock, i have plenty and you are more than welcome to purchase...
consider this as an olive branch, i am willing to bridge the gap between any misunderstandings previously had between you and I and i am hoping we can move forward together for the greater good of the community

I'm onto a supplier for wasp fusions if you can't get one from Mega.
I should have them within the next 10 days (hong kong)
I can let you know how I go, and if he's reliable I can pass on the details. Great price.

We must have typed that at the same time - looks like you're onto a wasp :)

Thanks, I really appreciate that. I'm happy to move past all of it as well :)

It sounds like I have some promising alternatives. My only question now, is for any newcomers to the gamecube scene. I'm doing a "how to" series for the portable gamecube on youtube and I was hoping there might be an easy place for newcomers to go to find wiikey fusion knockoffs. I could reference you, megalomaniac, but I'm not sure if you want to get blasted with messages/emails. I suppose I could tell them to search around online using different keywords and sites. If I run out of options, maybe I'll show them how to hack up a wii disc drive, as it's the next best thing.

i dont have any problem with getting messages to offer help when i can...
im in process of working on a "hopefully" complete FAQ for WKF/WASP that could possibly be a common reference for most new people looking for quick answers to their questions...
its still in its early stages but here is the link:

for educational purposes sure, but i hope you or anyone else wont have to concern yourself/themselves with ever having to use a disc drive.

Re: Wiikey fusions no longer being manufactured. Alternative

I'm definitely interested in purchasing a Wasp or equivalent alternative if anybody manages to find them for sale. Keep me posted. I found a website claiming to have them in stock that said "Special Offer, Great Discount, Call for pricing". I couldn't find a phone number, so I sent them an email asking. I'll let you guys know when (or if) they reply.

have you looked over at gc-forever? there is a sales thread posted...
also, currently there is a prize raffle and one of the listed prizes is a WASP Fusion..

Ah, okay. Thanks for the info. :D

Do you know when MEGAdrives will be in stock? There's no point in me ordering a Wasp until I can also get a MEGAdrive (that way they can be shipped together). I don't care which version as I won't be using a DVD drive at all, it's just to reduce wireporn for the Wasp.
