Great bargains from E-bay / Garage / Yard / Car boot sales

Re: Great bargains from E-bay / Garage / Yard / Car boot sal

Last spring, I got a Dell XPS M1710 on craigslist for $100. It had a core duo and 1gb ram. It has the "low-end" graphics GeForce Go 7900GS. I bought a Core 2 Duo 2GHz for it and now I have a decent computer!

And yesterday, I bought another one for $85. Core 2 Duo 2GHz, 1gb ram. Unfortunately, this one also has the same graphics card as the one I already have. So no upgrade there. But this one is in much better cosmetic condition and the sd card reader isn't broken.

So if you want old, cheap laptops, go to craigslist.

I found a Power Mac G3 Blue and White with matching monitor and keyboard on my local Craigslist for $150. I've always like these systems, and I'm told they are becoming harder and harder to come by. What do you all think? Good deal or not? I am thinking about putting an all in one pc build into the old monitor and upgrading the tower.

On Friday I was able to score a Happy Hacking Keyboard Pro 2 on eBay for the low low price of only $160. I knew when I got it that I would have to do some cleaning. Here is what my afternoon consisted of. http://imgur.com/a/SmnCn

Not sure what the official nomenclature is, but it had the new Metro-style one. Had a couple of XBLA games on it too.

To be honest, I was always a PS3 guy and I was mostly excited about having it so I can play my Xbox games again, but the whole Smartglass thing is pretty Dang spiffy.

I got this stuff sans the mouse for $400 on craigslist. Everything works.

This includes 3 radiators, 1 triple 120, a single 120 and single 140, d5 pump and res combo, fm2 board with and apu a10 7700k, 8 gb of g skills sniper ram, a gtx 780 with water block, block is really for a titan but fits the 780 as well, a bottle of mayhem aurora 2 blue, a bottle of clear mayhem coolant, 3 120 high static pressure fans, a water block for the apu, a water block for an 1150 chipset, a handful of fittings and a 120gb ssd.

At first the seller was only selling the 780 the water block and the rads I think for 350, when I was going to pass he threw in all kinds of flax for 50.

The front two rows is stuff that I got in London during the first full week of this year, and the last week of last year.

For the Nintendo DS, I got the following for around £9 from UK video game chain store called GAME:
- Golden Balls
- Doctor Who Top Trumps
- Captain Morgane and the Golden Turtle

From a store in London called Retro Game Base, I got the following for around £12:
- Tetris for CDi
- N64 Passport
- Nintendo security bit (not pictured)

As for the two books, I got the signed copy of "Terrible Old Games You Probably Never Heard Of" from a store called Forbidden Planet for £10. The Shakespeare Doctor Who book came from Shakespeare's birthplace shop for £10.

Moving back to state side, in order by row of when they were acquired. (Except for the Amiibo).

The following PlayStation games I got for $1 apiece from a local charity thrift shop:
- NASCAR Racing
- NASCAR 99
- Goin' Quackers

From the same shop, I got the following two Xbox games for $2 apiece:
- NASCAR Thunder 2003
- Sega GT 2002/Jet Set Radio Future Combo

Again from the same shop, I got the The Legendary Starfy for Nintendo DS for $1. The loose DVD copy of Space Balls for 25 cents. Symphonic Rock American Classics CD for $1. Then finally the Top Gun soundtrack for $1. (The Top Gun CD itself is in my car stereo right now.)

The Amiibo is the retro coloring 30th Anniversary Mario from GameStop.

Moving to stuff from last week, which is also the good stuff.

On Tuesday, I got the white original Vita from GameStop for $140. Inside the Vita is a new 16gb memory card I got for $20 from GameStop. Lastly from GameStop, I got Persona 4 Golden for Vita for $18. The Vita branded carrying case came from Walmart at the marked down price of $11.

Then there are Saturday's finds. For $60, I got the the top loader NES with (not pictured) 2 dog bone controllers & hookups and the Atari 5200 with box & 4 controllers. The 5200 still has the factory clear plastic covering the metal part.

Just picked up a 21.5" Gateway monitor (apparently made by Asus) for $25 from Goodwill. Looks like refurbs were going for $200 a couple years ago. Much needed upgrade since the monitor I've been using was one I'd bought second-hand for $30 about 10 years ago.
