Pokemon wont save after battery change.

Turns out you guys were right. Though it's funny as every video/picture/original battery i saw was positioned the opposite way. Didnt even think to check the polarity of the battery i had.

Pokemon wont save after battery change.

I dont think im going to be that lucky. I matched it to the direction of the old battery, and im pretty sure the negative side is that with the tab soldered over the top of the battery.

Pokemon wont save after battery change.

Sorry, posted a picture in the wrong thread. The joints dont look fantastic, but i reseated it about 3 times, adding a bit of flux and even though they now look perfect, it still wont save. Cart is in good condition. Always worked. Obviously the battery died recently and i decided to replace...

So now it works, great!! Though i cant switch between clocks. If add another crystal for normal speed, how do i wire that...

Next solder a wire from th other spot on the original crystal and solder the other end to a lead on the new crystal. Lastly, solder another wire from the other lead of the new crystal to the second point...

    GBC overclock trouble

You have confirmed my suspicion. I removed one on another board and couldn't understand why the black ceramic top piece had metal tangs? So it is just a tiny crystal within the ceramic? So essentially the clock wont work unless the factory crystal is removed, or at least disconnected from one...

    GBC overclock trouble

Oh thank you so much. It's a miracle! So if i remove the crystal, wont it only clock one speed? Is the crystal the black top part?

    Dreamcast laser trouble

If a pot adjustment yields few results, would this suggest that the laser is almost dead? My DC reads some GD discs, some of the time, and some CDR's all of the time. For example, a certain GD disc will not boot at all, it attempts to load for a few seconds and returns to the DC menu screen...
