mega drive saved from certain death

Lol hi guys ok so today my sister was walking past some guys house and he was carrying a box and towards a skip she noticed a sonic game on the top of the box and asked politely if she could
have the game (for me ) which he replied does he want this too!
long and short she has just been and given me a mega drive mk1 with
these games
sonic(not working)
fifa 95 boxed
super kick off boxed
street fighter 2 special championship edition boxed
mega games 1 boxed

also in the box was a pad and all the leads

i plugged it in and at first it would not come on
turns out that it was just the game (sonic)
all the other games work fine thank you sis for not being too proud to ask for a guys trash lol


oh the megadrive has the words high definition graphics stereo sound and the model number is
1600-005
ive added a pic just because i can now my new cam has arrived lol

Have you tried cleaning the sonic contacts?

First post in this forum and I second the suggestion of mrwonderful.

Try cleaning the inside of the cartridge with a cotton swab and some alcohol based product. Something like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KamJnNhUJuc
