12V TO 6V

So I need to take a 12V DC line and step it down to 6V.
I'd get a 7806, except I don't know an electronics store that's close to me.
The local radioshack only carries 7805's and 7812's, but they also carry adjustable voltage regulators.
Can anyone design me a circuit with the radioshack regulator (LM317T) so that i can take 12V and change it to 6V (or find one drawn up)?

But get the pinout right- it's not the same as the circuit symbol.

If you the circuit diagram of stabilizer then create a step down stabilizer it convert 12 v to 6v or whatever you want.It really very easy go to the electronics 4 you magazine ,there you will get the circuit diagram for converting 12v to 6v device.
