I figured I'd test the device before taking it apart. Seeing as how I didn't really have US power plugs, I just used an adapter from my SNES. It didn't work on my TV, I just got a white distorted bar at the bottom of my screen for both 8 and 16 bit. Fair enough, I thought. Maybe it's my TV...

Ok, so the NTSC psone screen has a 3.579545 crystal, and the pal ones has a 4.433619 crystal. I'm thinking about trying to see what happens when I replace my PAL crystal with an NTSC one and give it an NTSC signal. My supplier happens to carry both these crystals (must be some kind of standard)...

I have some with dead pixels, so I could use the display. it'd also be neat to have a board that I can desolder all components from in order to scan it.
