Im making an xbox 360 WVI with these materials.
PS1 Screen (runs on 7.5v)
5.8ghz av transmitter/receiver (runs on 9v)
Wireless Xbox 360 controller (runs on 3.3v)

What type of battery should and how many volts should it be?
I was planning on getting the 3.3v like this http://skytroniks.com/images/3v228v2.jpg
Can I use a 9v battery and use diodes to drop it down to the 7.5v I need?

I bet your AV receiver will run just fine off of 7.4v.
Alright man I'll give that a try, I hope it works. Could it harm the av reciever in anyway if it doesn't have enough power?

Here is the final mock up of the 360 WVI. I'm just waiting to get my batteries and the 5.8ghz av sender/receiver. I have the wiring all planned out as well.

Please tell me those aren't antennas on the back.

Just replace them with some lengths of enamel wire inside the case.

They are but it's just a mock up. If they get a good enough signal inside the casing they will not stick out the back of the case.

My batteries are finally coming in on the 17th. I still need a 5.8ghz wireless av sender/receiver but, the only place I can find one is walmart in the states. Would anyone be willing to buy one and send it to me? I can pay for it and the shipping cost.

That is really really cool. I saw his ps3 as well. Really like the case work on those. I may decide to build one at some point...

I have started case work and will have some pics in a bit. I am ordering the 5.8ghz av sender and receiver tomorrow.

I thought about building a WVI a few times, but deemed it pointless. First, I don't own any seventh generation consoles, which means it would be a PC WVI. Since I suck and practically hemorrhage money on projects, I could probably get a good netbook that could play games OK for the same price. I thought about a universal WVI, but I think I would hang myself after programming one controller interface. That and the problem with WVIs is that they are only good within range.

I cannot deny the cool factor, though. WVIs are really neat, and good for screwing with people. Maybe not practical, especially the massive flax I would build, but undeniably cool.
