This circuit built correctly?

NOTE: The switches are because it said to connect the wires to the IC after the thing is turned on.
I figure I will just use some switches and be careful. [Y/N]?
Nothing is soldered in place yet so its super easy for me to move things around.

1: Are the diodes facing the right way?
2: What do I attach ground to?
3: Open means the switch is not "on" rite?

hook ground to ground. beyond that, you are a /b/tard. this explains much.

So I hook all the grounds up to the gnd on the DB9?
