Yes, it's now the Official Server of ModRetro. (Officially!)

It's currently being operated by ModRetro members Aux and βeta.
They are doing this out of their college's own charity, likely with someone else's resources, and we thank them for it.

I think maybe just turning off creepers for the time being would help... anyway, creepers that don't do damage aren't any fun at all. Also, Thursty's computer is more epic than my laptop, and can probably handle the monsters sans lag. I wouldn't know, though, I still don't have the ability to get on.

Monsters in general are a dealbreaker for me, personally, because I've had monsters spawn inside my house before. My well-lit, high-security house. Many times. The last time it was three creepers. That... incident is partly why that server is Peaceful now.

The moral? Monsters don't care if you have a ton of lights. They might spawn there anyways just to make your life harder.

I've never had a problem with it. Just make your floor out of slabs, and you don't even need torches.

Invisible mobs are a joy. Suddenly being assaulted by things i cant see in not fun.

Skylights fix the problem during the day, and just make sure you have enough light for night time. Even if you think you have enough light, GET MORE. Glowstone and Pumpkins are uglier than torches, but they also give out more light, so if you can incorporate them nicely in your design, it'll help a lot. Also, in regards to what tts suggested to you, did you use double slabs? Because I'm pretty sure it'd only work with half slabs. Besides, its Survival Multiplayer, you sort need monsters to survive from.

That's not a problem with the server, its with Minecraft in general (that or you just have a bad connection to the server). Try taking your difficulty off Peaceful and set it to Hard or something while you play multiplayer.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that regardless of the fact my house was made entirely of stone and had far more lights than necessary and no way for monsters to enter or leave it without me leaving a door open, they spawned inside of it anyways. I'm not an idiot. When monsters started spawning inside my house I added more and more lights in an attempt to get it to stop but it just kept happening.

I wasn't a big fan of survival mode to begin with, but that was much too much. You guys may enjoy it, and that's fine, but I don't enjoy it.

Understandable, although lights work for me, I know some people don't like playing with mobs. Perhaps we should call a vote, or try to reach some sort of compromise in terms of mobs? Didn't someone suggest some sort of boots or something in the old thread that would allow people who wanted to play the game without damage to do so?

I'm not sure what "gaint statues" you're referring to (I only know of the 3-4 video game sprites in pixel plains), but there are a *Can'tSayThisOnTV* ton of houses.
