Re: The Ion64 Worklog! Update: 11/28/10

I just realized that this is the eyeon64 and not the Lon64. I am retarded.

Also, wire your controller inputs directly to the U8 chip and you can trim a little more.

Re: The Ion64 Worklog! Update: 11/28/10

lol. Thanks for the reply. If the board doesn't fit in the case, I'll U8 and trim more. Now I need to make the case.

Re: The Ion64 Worklog! Update: 12/4/10

I used that same controller in my Retro64. Here's how much I had it cut down:

Re: The Ion64 Worklog! Update: 12/4/10

Wow nice job! I'll probably cut more off soon. How did you get the controller pak port off. Did you tear it off? Desolder It?

Re: The Ion64 Worklog! Update: 12/4/10

I actually kept it for my portable. But if you don't want a controller pack, you could desolder it, or you could probably get away with cutting this portion off and doing a bit of rewiring:

Re: The Ion64 Worklog! Update: 12/4/10

I never did have to rewire anything for the controller pak slot for it to work correctly; I assumed it was because it didn't disconnect a ground when I did it and it was the same cut off as it was when not in use.

Re: The Ion64 Worklog! Update: 12/4/10

Thanks, I'll probably cut it off this weekend. Right now I'm wiring the batteries. The main thing that I am wondering is how to permanently connect to the batteries; I know I shouldn't solder too them. Any suggestions?

- mymixed

EDIT: I already soldered to the batteries, I just had to use some liquid flux.

Re: The Ion64 Worklog! Update: 12/18/10

OHSHI- I just realized this...

Did you account for the thickness of the plastic when you made the area for the cart slot? It needs to be that much wider on all sides to fit this thing.

Re: The Ion64 Worklog! Update: 12/18/10

Nice.... Have you ever tried re wiring the board and cutting the wires half way down and attaching them to the board? :awesome:   :tophat: :dahroll:

Re: The Ion64 Worklog! Update: 12/18/10

@Basement_Modder: Okay thanks, It's a little bigger then the cart but I'll check. What size do you think it should be? The plastic I bought is .080 thickness.

@Mods: I hope Lazza isn't a spambot, sorry if he is.

@Lazza: WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?
