SLGC - ShockSlayer's SL-68p GCp: Worklog

Live streamed today's progress as it was happening, I'll have to put up some pictures and a video when I can; likely tomorrow.

Trimmed to mobo to fit in the case, so had to rewire the a/v to alternate points, rewire the power board to alternate places, and rewire the controller port and clock battery to alternate places. Still have to rewire the memory card slots, and thankfully I don't have to solder to the tiny components for the DD, I was able to save that port.

Still waiting on the screen and the wiikey fusion, cases came in today though. :D

Wired up the memory card slots today, sorry I didn't have the pics/video like I promised, I just didn't take the good camera down with me! D:

More importantly, Beta/SS figured out the design of the portable, and I had a great idea for ribbon cable adapters and two-half portables(like the ZNWii.)

Look at all the relocated junk! :D

The point of this picture is the bottom where the memorycards are wired up, that's a lot of tiny wiring! ::3: Weren't no thing.

OH LOOK IT FITS IN THE CASE HOORAY!

Video coming soon, I rendered it and the sound wasn't working! :o

how are you going to handle the disk drive? is it just going to be mounted on the back or is it possible to run games of an SD card now?

sweet.

2 questions:

- does the screen look nicer than 3.5" screens? with or without the widescreen enabled?

- If you can toggle the widescreen from the screen itself, then shouldn't you be able to use widescreen on any game? Will it just stretch the games without widescreen support???

I think it looks nicer, but I haven't really been able to play any games on it yet, I'll try OoT because I played a lot of that on my TSF(3.5 screen) and see if it looks a lot better.

Yeah, you can use widescreen on any game. It stretches it.

I bought that same screen from Ebay. It says that it needs 12v but do you know if it can run on lower voltage?

I see the triggers being a bit of a problem with a case that small, also that screen is kind of big. How are you going to fit the controls around it?

Probably can, 99% of the time these things run right to a regulator. Haven't tested, will do so tonight.

Everything's fairly planned out, I haven't settled entirely on my design but βeta, my official case consultant, and I have settled on some ideas and everything's going to work out.

I will draw you up a new and improved case design, now that we've got ideas floating around.

That screen is pretty sexy, so much so that I just ordered one for the GC Fusion v2. :D

Nice progress so far SS. Been on vacation for the past week so I haven't posted much. Looks like pretty soon all you'll have left is casework. Does suck about the canada post thing... ><
