RetroPad64 [N64P]

Here I go. Starting my first portable. I'll list off the different things I'm using in this N64 portable:

For the case, I'm taking a Wii U GamePad protective plastic case. It's weak, but I'll coat the inside with some ABS cement.

The screen I'm most likely going to use is a 5" rear-view car monitor. I just probably get one atleast 6", but I find this is good.

These are the speakers. Are they good enough?

Copper heatsinks. Are these fine?

I'm going to use these in replace of the rumble-pak, as buying an original one would cost around $40..

This is some 16-bit concept art of what the final product will, most likely, look like.

The copper sinks will work just fine. If I recall correctly SS used similar ones in a lot of his portables.

The screen will work fine as well, although I'm noticing the Amazon screens really can't run on anything below 10v. Yes, they do "power on" but the video is all wonky and distorted, so I'd feed in 12v.

Speakers should be fine but don't forget you'll need an audio amp to go with them.

Looking forward to this project. :)

Those speakers are quite big. Just be sure to plan for the surface area they will take up being 1.4" wide.

If you end up needing smaller ones, the 3ds speakers are quite small

and only a couple dollars more.

also, those copper sinks work well, I also used them in mine, but you will need more than 8 of them to cover all of the chips on the board. It will take 8 just to cover the two larger chips, plus 4 more for the ram chips.
