I've gotten some playing time into GTA V now. Definitely better than GTA 4. Still not sure how I feel about multiple main characters. Nothing against the characters themselves as they each seem to be able to carry a story, but I feel like I'd enjoy the world outside of the missions more if I just had one guy to put myself into.

I felt like that too, groos when I first started. However as the story develops and I free roam and explore more, I discovered that I like to do certain stuff as certain characters. If I just wanna drive around I use Franklin. If I want to fly or just run around shooting people in the street the obvious choice would be Trevor. For other random stuff like golf or tennis I control Michael. You start to see their personality in the missions and running down the street punching hookers in the back of the head doesn't seem like Franklin's favorite hobby.
