would be the same as any laser diode wouldnt it?, 3 pins, one is ground the other is for power and the third is unussed

no. have you ever seen the diode for a ps1?

thats what it looks like

* GND: Negative return for LDs and PD cathodes (-ve).
* VLD: Violet (~405 nm) diode anode (+ve).
* RLD: Red (~650 nm) diode anode (+ve).
* IRLD: IR (~780 nm) laser diode anode (+ve).
* PD: Photodiode anode.
