Possible to cut wii disc drive cover/run without? GIANT IMG

Wii disc drive. Can I cut a window in it, or can I run it without the cover completely?

Also, wtf is this circuit board on the cover?

That circuit board is one of the Wifi antennas.

EDIT: Or the bluetooth antenna? I haven't looked inside the Wii in a while; where is it connected to?

It's not an antenna. It's part of the DD, palmer thinks it might be a disc sensor. Makes sense, looks like an infrared receiver and emitter to me.

Ahh, you're probably right - I just remembered what the antennas looked like. ^^;;........
