See title. Not much to say till I get farther on the case, the guts are pretty much ready to go.

Hm... will it actually have batteries, or only be semi-cool like sifuf's?

Out of curiosity, what case did that originally belong to?

@bentomo: Don't worry, you can make it a good bit smaller. Mine is wider and taller than it needs to be just because of the case I choose to use.

@Argelfraster: They are not interesting, but sure. :p

@Zeturi: It will have 3600mah li-po batteries. The case is from a set of speakers.

I will definitely be checking this thread every five minutes, then. What type of cooling are you using? Copper ram sinks seem to work well for me, and hailrazer as well. Which reminds me, will you be including an expansion pak?

I am using a custom cut sheet of copper, it is as big as the board, but with holes cut in it to fit over the capacitors on the board. It will be a perfectly flush solution.

And I plan on using the expansion pack. :)

The copper THAT I SOLD TO YOU :D

PALMER, YOU Playstation. YOU STOLE MY EXCELLENT IDEA.

Did you cut the capacitor holes yet? :awesome:

If you show us pics of anything, make it the controller pl0x. That's my biggest dilemma in my current one ;) (It's not as small as yours damnit! :gonk: )

I've actually been designing a new one that is very gameboy like. Not going to post the designs just yes but i will be trimming off the cartridge slot part of the board.

I saw this thread from my fireplace-side seat in panera bread and began to flax my pants. PalmerTech is comitting to finishing a portable. At least you found a way to get more than 2200mAh in it, however, that leaves me an opening to steal the nesp case idea. ;)

edit- call it the palm(er)64

@snow: Yeah, bought your copper. :p

@Beta: Not yet, should be really easy, though. Just mark the spots and drill.

@Nintendott: Thanks!

@Drue: I am using a rev 1 yobo controller, it has everything on a glop, plus a few support resistors and caps.

@Mario: NO U

@Hail: I might do it that way, but I am actually planning on having it slide down the back. I actually plan on the cart being flush with the back, and it will just barely stick out from the sides. Then, I can put the batteries in the space below.

@Bentomo: Cool story bro

@BM: Yeah, it was actually planned on being called the Palm64 (My name, and it fits in your palm!)

*hugs*

For marking where to put the caps, try putting a ton of sharpie on the tops, then press on the copper sheet. That leaves a mark of where the caps are. It won't get the lower ones, but at least you'll have the highest ones.
I used this technique a lot on my weedwhacker bike. :)
