Re: Pnintendo64 worklog

Why do Americans call it football if they hold the ball most the time?

And can't wait to see some more process Clarky

Still in the early stages but you get the idea....I hope!?

Re: Pnintendo64 worklog

Thanks again guys.

Its always nice to have approval from others.

Well I'm pretty much ready to smooth off the cart slot cover so hopefully I'll get it pretty much finished tomorrow:

I still need to order a battery but it can only really be about 15-20mm thick, if you lot have any ideas? Has to be from ebay as shipping from battery space is too expensive to uk

Re: Pnintendo64 worklog

FINALLY, an update!!

Well today I decided to crack on and get the back of the case finished. I would have hoped to have had this portable done sooner but as I've had difficulties with the screen I was going to use, its put me back a little. Anyway, pics of the back of the case:

Re: Pnintendo64 worklog UPDATE 18th July

Is the front done yet? It's looking real good. Would you mind if I used your idea for the case on my portable?
EDT: Oh I just looked back and found the front Also what do you use as a a cart slot?

Re: Pnintendo64 worklog UPDATE 18th July

Thanks!

Yeah thats cool! Its nice to know that my design is good enough for someone else to use also.

For the cart slot cover, I just cut up and used the plastic from an old harddrive case, glued it all together and then applied bondo to smooth it in to the back lid of the case.

Re: Pnintendo64 worklog UPDATE 18th July

Where could I get a hard drive case like that. Is that a common one in old computers? Could I get it online?
Thanks for the OK. I have a case similar to yours, but a little different. I'd like to see a moc-up with the Z, L, R, Start, A, B, and C buttons, D-Pad, and I'm guessing Playstation analog (to match the D-Pad) placed in.
You should make a video tutorial on making cases with bondo even if it's like SS's slot relocation guide (a timelaps); you have skills! (probably too late to make a guide using this case though)

Re: Pnintendo64 worklog UPDATE 18th July

I really like the way the cart slot and z-button came out. looks smooth and legit. nice work!

Re: Pnintendo64 worklog UPDATE 18th July

Thanks guys!

seanmacdonn: The external hard disk was made by Packard Bell (uk) and I believe it was quite old so you may have some trouble finding the same one.

I would make some tutorial vids but I only have a digi cam and not a video camera :( I'll see if I can borrow one from work though.

Small update:

Memory card now internal!!
