Well since finishing the clarky64 I've decided to have ago at making a smaller sized portable for myself. I gave the clarky64 to my girlfriend as she liked it so much.

Anyway, heres what I've bought so far for this new project:

And I should hopefully have one of these soon:

Until most of these parts arrive I can start work :D

Re: small64 worklog

nice finds man. U got that superpad pretty cheap. I'd like to see how this turns out

Re: small64 worklog

Alright guys.

The case and pad finally turned up, so as I had some free time I decided to get on with this 64p.

So far I've wired up a ps1 analog to the superpad (which works great!) and have modded the case this far:

hope this turns out as great or better than the clarky64. Looking good so far. Also, put some LEDs on that thing!

Thanks! If I can be bothered I may make all the buttons backlit

Here's a small update anyway. Got the start button cut in and pretty much all the control pad wired except for the d-pad, L, R and Z buttons. Just deciding if I should use the superpad one or the original n64 one. Or if I can find the front of the GC pad I dismantled a while ago I'll use that d-pad.

Anyway, pics:

Re: small64 worklog

Looking nice man! Ive heard that most 3rd party dpads are terrible, so I would go with the n64 or GC one. Keep in mind though, the GC one is pretty small, and at least in my experience, doesnt do that great of a job. Keep up the great work!

Re: Pnintendo64 worklog

Only a small update this time. Just a bit more case work. Just need to add the R button, drill a couple of holes for various ports, headphones etc.. I'm still awaiting a load of parts so until I get the screen I can't really continue much further.

The nintendo badge will light up when the portable is complete. Let me know what you all think

Re: Pnintendo64 worklog

Thanks bush!! ;)

Small progress. I've trimmed the N64 board a little at the front and sides so far. Still more to do once the screen arrives and when I order the batteries.

After I've trimmed the top bit above the cartridge slot, it will fit like a glove in the lid of the case

Thanks guys!

I'm trying to make this one something special

Bit of an update. The N64 board has now been cut down to size so that it fits in the lid of the case. I have also completed the card solt relocation. All is working well

Not much more I can do as I'm still waiting for the screen. I'm sure it'll turn up sometime this week though.
