Photo editing question

I learned this when making my super-old "clone" photos. You take multiple images (for that jump, it was probably a burst shot) and put them all on layers in your favorite image editing program. Then you erase from the upper layers where the person would be on the bottom layer.

This is a super crappy explanation, but my laptop battery is dying and I don't feel like elaborating. If you have questions, go ahead and ask.
