need help with my 1st gamecube portable

I've been thinking about making a GCp for nearly a year now, but I have a habbit of wanting to do stuff but never actually doing it, I think this is down to cost tbh, Ive drawn a few pictures of what I want it to look like when finished (maybe I'll upload them later)

I also have a clear-ish image in my head of what I want it to look like, but since this will be my first portable EVER I am unsure what tools I will need-but I have quite a few in my shed so if you could tell me what tools I may need I probably will find them, if not I will buy them.

I am also (as stupid as it sounds) not sure what components I will require, I know I will need a gamecube, a controller, a screen and a battery of somekind, but I dont know what finer pieces I will need like switches and so on.
I was planning on using a PSone screen but they are too much so could someone recommend a fairly big screen I could use (not massivly big maybe a similar size and quality as the PSone screen).
With my batteries I would like long lasting one that could last ATLEAST 1 hour+.

HOWEVER, I plan to use a Wiikey fusion but I dont know how to set it up following Kasar's GCp guide.
I am aware that im more or less asking you too spoon feed me this info, but to the portablizing veterans on this forum, im asking you to share your wisdom to a vastly less experianced 'portablizer' to be.... thanks guys.
finally, what casing methods do you find to work well and comeout with a smooth finish.
THANK YOU

Soldering Iron for sure
Hot Glue
Switches from Radioshack or anywhere else
Screen use a Psone screen if you want the size of it, just search ebay thoroughly
Obviously some sort of plastic case
Screwdrivers
Multimeter
Solder
Wire (Lower gauges for anything with power (20 or so) and higher gauges for things like the wiikey (28 or so)
Batteries from http://www.batteryspace.com worth for the quality but will be more expensive.

Use the wiikey guide from here

For cases no idea haven't gone onto that yet.

Also look at the Mega-Sticky sooooooooooooooo much info there.

Cheers, Wes

well I've gotten though most of my portable without a multimeter but I would not recommend it
also for the smooth finish. wet sand 600-800 or 1000 if you really want a clean/smooth finish.
ps try to and some periods to your posts... and capital letters like I

As for the smooth finish, you should wet sand 600-800 or 1000 grit sandpaper if you really want a clean/smooth finish.
P.S. Try to add some periods to your posts and capital letters like "I."

Thanks alot for your post, luckily I've got plenty of wire, a soldering iron, a glue gun and of course screwdrivers (with screws).
But I will get the other stuff eventually. Ive heard Tact switches are good so ill get some of them,
I take it that your making a portable too so i wish you the best of luck with that, thanks
