Re: N7 64, Noah7's Third Portable (Worklog)

Pictures of new case will come... tomorrow. :palmer:

Re: N7 64, Noah7's Third Portable (Worklog)

:dah: I need to let it dry for a bit. Maybe... tomorrow again. :palmer: Naw, but I'll post them later.

Re: N7 64, Noah7's Third Portable (Worklog)

Ok, so after taking a good look at Mymixed's diagram, I noticed he has a higher rev than I do. I've got a rev 3. So, where would I solder the 3.3v line to because the wire I'm using is to thick to wire to the chip.

Re: N7 64, Noah7's Third Portable (Worklog)

Nevermind, after a horrifing relocation I figured it out.

Re: N7 64, Noah7's Third Portable (Worklog)

I fried my N64, so look at my junkyard thread and sell me one.

Re: N7 64, Noah7's Third Portable (Worklog)

Alright, need some input on this. I'm almost positive that my N64 is fried, BUT it's in sleep mode right now. The thing is, the RCP doesn't heat up within a few seconds, it takes about 30 seconds or so. So, is it fried? If not, what can I do to fix this problem?

Re: N7 64, Noah7's Third Portable (Worklog)

Leave it alone for a few days. Don't touch it, don't turn it on, don't even look at it. After a while it should come back to you.

Re: N7 64, Noah7's Third Portable (Worklog)

Alright. So, it's not fried? I tried redoing a few loose pins on my cartridge slot, then I turned it on and found it was sleeping.

Re: N7 64, Noah7's Third Portable (Worklog)

I've also heard of trying a different AC adapter, I've got 2 more. Should I try them, or just leave it for a few days?

Re: N7 64, Noah7's Third Portable (Worklog)

If you mean the original power brick, then yes. The first one you have used may need to be reset. Check to make sure it's working, if it's not unplug it for 30 seconds and it should be outputting voltages when you plug it back in.

Re: N7 64, Noah7's Third Portable (Worklog)

So question. I cut up the controller, and the joystick doesn't work. I rewired it, and it doesn't work. Should I wire it to the chip?

Re: N7 64, Noah7's Third Portable (Worklog)

I'm acutally getting close to finishing this. I'm just waiting for my batteries, and need to buy that screen from bush. :p

INDEED. I wan't to see this bad boy done.

OMGWTF I've got a gamecube and 2 N64s in production. The N7 64 is almost complete, I've just gotta get that screen from bush. :U

Oh how close I am to finishing the N7 64. So, need some help. Trimmed the board, and I am getting nothing on the screen after relocating the ports. I used rather thin wire for the power port, could that be the problem?

That probably is, when I used thin wire to relocate the port, the LED flickered and scared me. So to be safe now, I just use the wire from a spare n64 a/c adapter.

Consider this a little reboot.
