N64 power/video question

Ok i have an n64 all hooked up with screen etc., but I have this problem when i try to power it. When I power it I am getting no video, but it does turn on, the game's plugged in, expansion pak is plugged in, and everything is fine (except for not getting video). I've had this problem two other times, and it seems that if I just wait a day or two, the problem's fixed and I get video. I'm not completely sure but it seems that something's resetting regarding the N64. I was thinking, it seems that this problem fixes itself automatically, but is there some way to fix it manually? Thanks

Is the N64 still in its case, or have you taken it apart?

No audio, it's altogether in the case(of my portable) but it's still accessible. Like I said this happened before I just don't know what's causing it.

Do you have it hooked up to batteries? I might know your problem. If not, try switching power supplys.
