N64 At its smallest.

Gonna go out and buy a board sometime this week. Gonna cut it up and see how small I can get it with it still working.
So pretty much this post is just spam until I actually do anything :awesome:

Mako, if this is a dick measuring contest:

SS has, to the extent of my knowledge, made the smallest working N64.
Beta, and SS both possess the knowledge to make it smaller than that.
I already possess the knowledge to make one smaller than either of them currently believe is possible.

Bo's involvement only extends with Beta.

I think SS said he could fit an N64 in a GBC in a PM he sent me a while back, but that might have been you, I dunno.

Big difference, he's not cutting his boards.
He's reproducing the N64's PCB in a smaller, custom format.
It's something people have wanted to do for awhile, to say the least.
Many people have contributed greatly to the idea, OzOnE showing quite a bit of progress as of late.

Cutting the boards will never yield such results.
Period.

I'm not dissing anyone who cuts the board, it's all im capable of doing, but credit where credit is due, if he finishes it he will have the N64 at it's smallest

Last night, we cut the smallest possible board without relocating anything, including the cart slot. It works in theory, and we're testing it today.

yep, looks like this could become a contest to see who can make the smallest N64 board, now IF SS could fit a N64 in to a GBC, then there is no contest, the chips would probably be about a millimeter away from each other, now, a DMG might be possible with some crazy board trimming and no heat sink (talking about the one under that massive main heat sink) and replacing the battery compartment as part of the area for the N64. if this thread keeps going, will all probably see some of the smallest N64s ever. :)

If in that context, I by far have the smallest penis since I forgot completely about everything else. :gonk: (maybe it was all that caffeine, you know what they say it does to people) Also, it is possible to fit a n64 into a dmg and almost(if not possible by jlee) into a cgb.

Isn't Ozone emulating a multiconsole system with an FPGA?
(Though I'm sure he's helping Kibble with his redesigned board.)

If you relocate the U8 chip, the board is only 66.5mm tall, or 2.62 inches. In comparison, the 3.5" ebay screens are 64.3mm tall, 2.532in.

Don't be so sur that it can't get smaller, there's always a flax ton of other stuff that can be relocated to make it even smaller.

I'm currently working on finding the pinouts for all those components to the right of the RCP. I've got most of the top half done, the difficult part will be the bottom half because all of those tiny capactors and resistors. My goal is to make a diagram that shows what to rewire and where so that you can cut off a chunk of the right side and relocate it whereever.
