i seriously need help with battery. i want a 12v but 11.1 or 14.8 is good too. prefered to be flat and long than a brick. must charge and use at same time

I suggest instead you start working on the portable before you gather batteries and other unessential parts.

i decided to recycle a ton of things from the game cube it self before throwing it away. i already have the controller soldered and i used the original power led and resistor. the reset switch is actually a small lever with screw holes so i soldered it on as a z button. aesthetically, i'm using the Nintendo game cube logo circle in the center just like the game cube u as well as the crescent moon power light. tomorrow ill try to head over to radio shack to get some more solder, resistors, and tact buttons and then work on the relocation of the regulator. DVD drive will require some extra wires purchased on digikey.
