Motherboard layers

I was doing a bit of a trim on my GC mobo, and was inspecting the layers for shorts when I thought just for fun I'd try and take some hd pics of the cross section. I hope this helps someone or if you just think it's cool like I do.
Looks like Two layers pretty close together on either side, explains why it could be a challenge to trim it just right on the first try.

unless I've misunderstood its not just 2 layers I believe there is 4 layers.

it does show a lot about trimming the mobo, I personally haven't for my first project but will definitely try trimming next time

That's what I said. Two layers on either side so four in total. In the close up I have there you can see the trace edges, close to the surface of each side of the board. I should have been more clear there I suppose.

But yeah as far as trimming goes I found that it wasn't actually to tough. If you use some fine sandpaper and bevel the edge slightly on either side it increases the gap between the exposed layers just a little bit. Helps I think anyways.

I know I'm just a noob here really but I'm really into it and wish I had discovered this forum 10 years ago.
