HELP!!!!!!!

ok someone pls help me! im a noob and im making an n64 portable but everytime i use the solder it makes a huge clump and then drops onto the part im trying to solder! how do i get it do only make little tiny things of solder like you see in videos and @!#% like that?!?
PLS HELP ME

Sounds like yerdoinitwrong.
Turn the iron on, let it warm up. When getting ready to make the solder joint, apply a small amount of solder to the tip to transfer heat and clean the tip (this is tinning it). Next, place the soldering iron on the pad and leg of the component you wish to solder to to heat it up. When the pad/component leg are heated up, add a small bit of solder directly to the iron once again to flow a bit over the component, then apply solder to the opposite end of the pad, and solder should flow over and make a nice joint. This sounds like a long time, but the whole process doesn't take but 5 or so seconds.
