GameCube Revolution ~ Worklog

Still fighting with the front of the case to get it right. I almost threw it across my garage and stomped on it last night. But I didn't. :/
My dad did that with his PC once. Then he went out and bought a Mac. :p
I can't wait to see this thing finished, and the logo is going to be badass.

That blue version SS found is the background on my phone xD
If you still need it done, I can play sound with shoop free edition on my phone.
Messed around anyway. Tint effect made this.

I'm really liking how this is turning out. A lot.

I totally know that feeling, I felt that way during the SLGC's final days a few times, especially with the case(even though it's totally not as pretty as this thing will be.)
Destruction feels so good.

I'm curious as to the logo, does the smaller gold one work fine, or does the bigger blue one need a color change?

SS

I printed the one SS posted out onto decal paper the other day. Clear coat is still drying, but I think that one will look nice. Thanks though! Moar updates soon. Maybe tonight, its all coming together nicely now. :)

Getting close to being just about as far as I can go until the front of the case is finished. Still need to install the L/R trigger tacts and tidy stuff up a bit. Other than that pretty much everything is 100% wired for the back of the case. Front of the case will contain only the screen, controller board, controller buttons/analogs, low batt indicator circuit (which I still need to wire up) and the Component(VGA) chip (which is already wired). So not much left to do, just need to get the front of the case right....

Notice that its not plugged in either? ;)

Looks great! I'm digging the component chip. Glad I'm not the only one that gets to deal with it

Thanks guys :D All's well with picture quality so far Tchay, I'm gonna shield the flax out of the component chip and all the wires that go to it and come from it before I close it up just to be safe.

Here's a bit more progress pics with better quality this time:

EVERYTHINGS JUST SO PRETTY. :cry4:

That image looks criiisp. Makes me want to research the chip on my screen and see if there's a way to input something better than composite.

SS

Looks ossom. Totally diggin how you use wood to support that tact switch.
Also, what is that copper heatsink doing there?

Thx guys :D

The image quality is sooooo beautiful SS. I don't even... you have to see it in person to fully appreciate it.

Wood was handy at the time I was mounting the tacts, and hey, it works. XD

Copper ramsinks are mounted on top of the 1.5v and 1.7v regulators. Not that they get that hot, but they are close to the batt's and I had room, so I'm just being safe.

OMG its so true. Progressive scan is SO OM NOM NOM.

God, playing Twilight Princess or metroid prime in progressive scan; they just look so beautiful. It feels like I'm playing an HD gamecube game, silly as that sounds.

And if you ever go back to composite or even the normal VGA, everything just seems blurry.

Since I have everything pretty much wire up now that will go into this portable I ran a battery test today to set up the low battery indicator circuit I built. The only thing not hooked up during this test was the controllers rumble motors.

3 hours and 27 minutes later it finally shut off. Perfectly acceptable I'd say. :D

I also repainted the front of the case. It looks beautiful. Only took me 7 or 8 tries. XD

Once again I'm going to tease with flaxty quality pictures.
