Opinions on the color scheme are welcome. Case is obviously not final painted yet, but its close enough to get a good idea as the final coats will be satin black epoxy based paint.
Need to know which D-Pad I should use, lighter or darker, or should I paint the D-Pad the same color as the triggers/analog nub? I'm kinda torn on this one cause I don't think any of em look right.
This is the graphic I'll be using on the back of the unit.
And somewhere on there it'll have the GC revolution logo like in my sig, not sure where yet though.
I painted it later today after I took those pics and I have to say, I've given into the fact that I just totally *Can'tSayThisOnTV*ing suck at spray painting. It didn't turn out terrible or anything, but there are small imperfections in the paint job when there really shouldn't be. It is what it is though, cause I'm not doing it over again.
Maybe I'll look into investing in a cheap airbrush setup, I'd like to make more of these later as commissions if people want them, but I'm not gonna fight every time trying to get the Dang paint right. :/
Very nice Ashen the portable looks very good. But like you said if you really wanted to make it look even better you should really consider getting an air brush kit that way you could put some really crazy decals. http://www.google.com/search?client=saf ... a=N&tab=if
Just helping your google search.

Looks like a 100% total clone but hard to be sure, Its only available from overseas retailers and I couldn't find any that had it in stock anyway. Still, I'd be interested to see what diferences there are if any. I'm half tempted to flash the WASP's 1.5 FW to a wiikey fusion and see what happens. Looks like the wasp and wiikey v1.5 updates were released on the same day XD.
EDIT: I'm retarded, that wasabi chip is DVD only. No SD reader. ><
Maybe you're right, I'm just super picky when it comes to cases I suppose. It looks really good as far as it goes, except the D-pad area. Which is the area thats been driving me nuts:
Its hard to see it in the pics especially the zoomed out ones but the d-pad area is fugly and bubbled and stuff. I just cant seem to get that area right no matter what I do. I think it may have to do with they type of epoxy I used for frankencasing. Anyway, some close ups:
Its not terrible I suppose. But it still bugs the flax out of me. Especially after all the *Can'tSayThisOnTV*ing sanding I've done. Like I said though, I dont have it in me to wait for it to dry AGAIN, sand AGAIN, paint AGAIN... so it is what it is now.
This epoxy based stuff goes on pretty thick no matter what, but that's besides the point. I may give it one more go on the front of the case doing like you say Hail, thanks for the tips man.
So, anyone who's decent with photoshop/gimp/whatever wanna help me out? I'd like to extend the "glowing'ness" in this pic to fade out like the rest of the image. if I had any talent at such things I'd do it myself, but I don't. Anyone up for it? I'd like to put this on the revolution as a decal on the back, but it looks fuxored with those things just abruptly ending. Here's the parts I'm talking about. Untouched image can be found on the previous page of this thread:
Started wiring/mounting stuff into the back of the case last night. Not a whole lot of progress, but I got the L/R shoulder buttons glued back into the case and got the batteries all wired up and ready to wire to the regulators, which is my next step. Then I'll start wiring up the motherboard. flaxs gonna get pretty packed in by the time its all said and done I think.
Still fighting with the front of the case to get it right. I almost threw it across my garage and stomped on it last night. But I didn't. :/
