GameCube Portable Heatsink and Casing Help

Hey guys I am wondering if I can get your advice/help on my GCP. I have made more progress and I am finally moving on toward casing. I just have a couple of questions if you guys can help me out that would be great. For Heatsink Fan combos I was thinking about getting Zenl0cs IBM Fan one (380Z) as shown:

I am pretty sure this is the same one Tchay used in his Envision. Here is a picture of the back of it:

Now my real question is that will this setup work with the heatsink fan and cool everything fine:

^^ As you can see this is the setup I plan on using and I am pretty sure this same setup was used with the Envision.

Also one more thing, I know that Downing does case commissions, do you know how to contact him? Email possibly? That is all for now. Thanks for reading.

depends on how cool the heatsink stays, you do not wanna mix batterys and heat. find a fireproof, hard to melt plastic and use it as a spacer maybe?

this setup should work out just fine, as tchay used it in his envision, so, you'll have no problems with it working properly, which is great :)

great setup, great portable with great airflow system.

The way I think it works is, on the bottom, the fan sucks cool air in, and comes out the back, which is pretty much exactly how the original heatsink setup is.

So, if you want to have the same setup as tchay, I'd recommend having some vent holes on the bottom of the case.

After reading Zens old thread its actually the other way around. :P

I did read that on Zenl0cs section, but how can that be true? I'm assuming that Tchay used the setup I want to in his Envision, but I'm not sure, I am trying to get a confirmed answer from him. I will also try to contact Zenl0c to see what he thinks. But thanks anyway nuke appreciate it.

No that's an older pic of the Envision midgetman104. He doesn't have any of those mini fans on the bottom like shown in the picture you posted. Here is picture proving that:

^^ that is the only ventilation hole on the bottom, and there is no sign of any fans used on the bottom because there are no more air holes. Those bottom holes, as well as the heatsink fan hole on top, prove that some IBM heat sink fan system is in their. Again no confirmation from Tchay himself so this is just speculation.

Oh, sorry  . Well I think if you're matching the design pretty closely it should be perfectly fine

It's alright man I appreciate the help. And yeh it's probably the same just want to know what others think.

Yes you are correct with your setup zeldaxpro. Sorry I didn't reply sooner, I thought you had resolved the question

But the thinkpad heatsink sucks in cold air from that vent on the back of the Envision and the blows HOT air out the side of the Envision, so your setup will work great :)

OK THANK YOU SO MUCH TCHAY!!!!!! And its okay I did not mind waiting. I am just glad the setup will work fine. Sorry if I bugged you at all, I just wanted to make sure it worked before I start designing the casing and ordering parts. I appreciate your time to help me, and I will make sure everyone who has helped me, will be acknowledged after my GCP is complete. Thanks again :)
