I have a 2006 NTSC Wii motherboard that was shorted out somehow during an attempt to make a portable Wii. It's a mostly unmodified board, besides the right side being trimmed and the power port being removed.
When plugged in, the LED light is red. When powered on, the light will only turn green for a short time and then switch back off. Also there is a small clicking noise, like it's shorting out and sparking. I don't think there's any hope left in the board. If you just want it for parts, testing, or possibly repair, it's $10 + shipping
