BitCoin

Apparently its happened before, and zero saw someone post something similar on the bitcoin forum.

Yeah something is definitely up with Mt Gox. At least we have TradeHill too. *waits for Palmer to pop in with his referral code*

The article mentions a lot of things. Halfway through it mentions how an investor lost half a million bitcoins to a hacker

So? Make *Can'tSayThisOnTV*ing difficult passwords. My dad told me a while back that four letters followed by four numbers would be a very difficult password to hack. Perhaps the hackers have good tools, but it can't hurt to complicate your password.

So far I've read 2 articles, and although the articles explain bitcoin well, they also mention the threats of it getting taken down. Whether its true or not, fear might keep lowering the price....Idk...

My password was pretty decent. I've since changed it to a crazy ass one. In the future, I'm using tradehill.

I saw the story about the guy who lost "half a million dollars on the bitcoin forms. The guy lost 25k bitcoins, which was about $500k at the time. What happened was he backed up his wallet.dat on three different file storage websites, any of which could have stolen and spent his coins. He also thought it was encrypted, which it wasn't because it had left his (I think Truecrypt) encrypted volume.

So don't leave your wallet in open places, back it up, and get a good password. Here's a must-read article why "thisisfun" is actually a really good password.
