An XBox hard drive speed question.

How long does it usually take for the Xbox to rip a cd? Because I've done this with my xbox, and it takes an absurdly long time. It took 15-30 minutes for a Bare Naked Ladies cd. Is this normal speed, or is something up?

thats normal. the xbox was just crazy slow like that. if you manage to get one of the Dreamxbox's, it will take like 7 minutes.

Just mod your xbox using eithier a softmod, chip, or tsop flash and then FTP all your songs over.

Sadly, I only understood the first two bits. Second two I have no idea what they mean.

basically he is saying, "mod your xbox, wether by chip or softmod (flash the TSOP) and then use File Transfer Protocol to move your songs over.

Not really for many, I was just a bit out of it, I guess. Now that I have mako's excellent explanation it makes sense. Problem is, as the problem always is, I have little money. I'm working on getting a part time job, though, so hopefully it wont always be a problem.
