3rd party wiikey fusion

That's unfortunate, it seems like my Wii didn't even reqognize the device. It said nintendo gamecube on the disc channel but when I clicked it it went blank. I really hope someone like bugman find something very soon.

But in the mean time I also found a site that are apparently selling the legit wiikey fusion. I emailed then, and they told me that it has the hologram and serial number.

I'm not even sure if I have it wired correctly. I used a multimeter and each pin is getting continuity. Idk.

I have my official Wiikey fusion working fine and everything and its connected with the FFC cable and the breakout board. If anyone wants to send a 3rd party Wiikey fusion to me I can confirm it working or not by just swapping Wiikeys and trying it out.

There is one on its way to me now. I'll let everyone know the results when it gets here. From the looks of things, its almost sure to work just like the original. We'll see.

Ok cool!! I was thinking it could work as well. I mean if you can flash official firmware to it or Swiss hopefully you can get it to work.

Guess we have confirmation that the Wiikey Fusion Clones can be flashed to 1.5 or swiss and still work with a GameCube

Yes! I picked up one the clones from modchipsdirect.com and it works fine. Although it was finicky to get it to boot before I flashed it with the v1.5 firmware. I think I went through about an hour of various button pressing techniques before it would boot. I didn't play around with the v1.0 and flashed it to v1.5 and then to the latest version of swiss. I did get a picture of the serial number while it was at the v1.5 upgrade dialogue and it seems that the manufacture is just reusing the same serial for each chip as it is blacklisted on the wiikey site for registration. I can probably give some more info on it if anyone wants/needs it.
