PSOne battery options?

Ok so I'm looking to build a portable psone and I saw a thread over on benheck about a PSOneP here: http://forums.benheck.com/viewtopic.php?t=22131
I was wondering if this is a safe option for n00bs for a battery choice. any feedback is much appreciated.
And if someone would guesstimate how much battery life it would have if i had the PSOne LCD screen on it would help.

I don't know the equation for battery life, but yes those batteries are safer for beginners than li-ion because you don't need a protection circuit, and they're less likely to explode.

Those batteries are crap. Huge, heavy, and low capacity. They are, however, cheap, and as mentioned before, safe.
